From Fr. Peter's Desk: 16th May, 2017

You will have noticed a lot of comings and goings this week in the Parish.
Four schools with choirs have been rehearsing for the first Holy
Communions. New art work is appearing daily on the walls of the Church
telling us something about the boys and girls who will receive their first
Eucharist and *grow in love and friendship* with *Christ*.

Our *Junior Parish Choir* was back singing at the Family Mass this Sunday
after a couple of weeks of rest. Their presence alone is a glorious
enhancement of the liturgy.

We also had five baptisms on Sunday, prepared by the Baptism teams. This
liturgy is a participative effort with the families doing the readings, the
prayers of the faithful and the God-parents standing for the children with
the lighted candle and the Baptismal robe. The names of the newly baptised
are always on the wall near the altar so that the whole community may *pray
for them* and *welcome* them into the parish.

The Finance Committee had a meeting to oversee the accounts and to prepare
the report for the parish. This committee is formed by volunteer experts
from the parish who oversee the proper management of the community’s
finances.
