A Word from Fr Jim
We had a few beautiful Advent moments last weekend.
Dr Barry White gave a wonderful 1st Friday talk on ‘Meditation & Health.’
He will be back again.
Sr Rosa had us doing some exercises, she too will be back.
This weekend, Sunday 11th we have carols & cribs in the afternoon at 5.00pm.
We will have the chance to see the children’s cribs after we sing.
Thanks to all who are organising the Jam sale and the raffle in aid of parish funds.
On Thursday at 7.00pm Fr Peter McVerry and I will send our singing children around the Wedgewood and Balally areas as they sing for the homeless he works with and also for our Christian Meditators in Ukraine, see website https://wccm.org/community/ Ukraine/
who are serving the needy.
Thank you for all the toys for Ukraine and to Pasquale of the Pastoral Parish Council
for organising it. Let’s all spend a little time this week in Meditation and Service as we prepare for the First “Normal” Christmas in several years.
With my love & blessing
Fr Jim
I would especially like to acknowledge yesterday’s Carol Service. I was a magnificent event, no doubt for all involved. This time last year we were in the grip of yet another wave of Covid, the Omicron variant. Here we were, yesterday in a very full, welcoming church. Bursting at the seams with music. I would like to give thanks that this is our reality. I thank Fr Jim & Fr Lane for energetic, wise and inclusive leadership. Their stalwart service is echoed in the service and commitment of all who worked tirelessly through Covid and who now continue to work in services unabated by demands that frequently outstrip capacity.
In particular I’d like to acknowledge Heath and Emergency Services. My expressed gratitude is also on behalf of my two brothers who passed away this time last year. Yesterday, I listened for them also. They
Blessings to all.
Imelda.
I really appreciate all your encouragement and affirmation Imelda
