Once again a reminder that Archbishop of Dublin Dr Dermot Farrell will be visiting here in Balally on Sunday 12th December and will celebrate the 10am mass.
Afterwards, there will be community Carol Singing and a chance to meet the new Archbishop in the Pastoral Centre providing it is safe to do so.
Balally is a busy place these days as we celebrate First Communions and Confirmations with our children.
The increasingly worrying Covid resurgence means we have to pay special attention to safety in the coming weeks of Advent and Christmas. Fr Dermot and I , in consultation with the Parish Pastoral Council will keep everything under
review, taking guidance from the governmental and diocesan regulations.
You will be glad to hear I have finally moved into the parish . It’s great to be in, even though it’s still a bit of a building site. Thanks to the fantastic team of builders , Mick and John Paul, and Willie our painter. I’m so grateful to my dear friend Fr Dermot for his ongoing care and support and to Martina and the Finance Committee for all their help in getting me in. Thanks also to those of you who have given me useful gifts for the house.
In the monastery I was Fr Columba, so I’m naming the house Saint Columba’s
Thus my address will be:
Saint Columba’s,
312 Hawthornes Road,
Balally D16Y568.
I will shortly have a dedicated phone number but I can be reached at jcaffrey73@gmail.com
Talking of the monastery, I’m delighted to be so near the Carmelite sisters in Kilmacud and already I’m making an early morning drive to join them for daily Office.
I’m hoping that the availability of the Irish Catholic will be of interest to you. Priced €2.50. its a good way to keep up with Church happenings in Ireland and abroad. I’m going to talk with Fr Dermot about making other good quality literature available to you. So keep safe and well.
