Today is the Feast Day of Saint Columba-Colmcille, one of the three co-patron saints of Ireland. Columba was one of the ‘Twelve Apostles of Ireland‘, also became known as the ‘Apostle of Scotland‘. Through Columba’s good work Ireland has produced such treasures as the Book of Durrow and the Book of Kells. However, Columba undertook, at least, one shameful act (which resulted in his exile to Scotland), but through prayer and conversion he re-dedicated himself to God and turned his life around, with the help of God.
Here’s the story of Columba’s life, in miniature;
