Our Advent Step Out didn’t happen because of the condition of the roads . A number of wonderful children did gather. Fr Peter Mc Verry gave an inspiring talk and Brendan led some Christmas carols.
We will have boxes at the back of the church on Sunday and anything contributed will be divided between Ukraine and Fr Mc Verry.

I attended the delightful Carol Service in our Church Thursday night led by Brendan. Fr McVerry talked especially to the children present asking if they were ever hungry and how they felt etc., he spoke passionately about the people in his care and also the children of Ukraine.
He asked if we had any questions so I asked him how he keep going. He said he just loves what he does, in his early years he was a Teacher but that profession was not for him.
One of the children asked if he were paid. He replied he never took money for the work he does. He explained he is a Jesuit Priest and is looked after by the Order.
Please try to give as generously as you can at the Church collection this weekend to aid the work of this superb human being.
