Lenten Book: The book of St Bridgid by Colm Kean & Una O’ Hagan
This will be blessed and distributed 5th /6th March by Father Dermot & Father Jim.
In his rule for Monks, St Benedict asks the Abbot to choose a book which the monks could read privately and in full during the Lenten season. We did this each year in Mepkin. When I told Father Dermot about this he agreed it would be a lovely idea for the parish so, we selected a lovely book, The Book of St Brigid by Colm Keane and Una O’ Hagan. If you would like to order it you can do so this weekend at Mass. If you are following from home, you can order your copy through the Parish Office. Father Dermot and Father Jim will bless the books and distribute them on the 1st Sunday of Lent. St Brigid is very topical. A monk, abess, leader, healer. This could be something beautiful to do together in Lent
