Letter to Pope Francis: To be signed by Balally Parishioners on 13th and 20th May 2018, Ascension and Pentecost

Dear Santo Padre, Pope Francis,

We the families and parishioners of the parish of the
Ascension of the Lord at Balally in Dublin wish to thank you for accepting
the invitation to visit Dublin in August 2018.

We are also very grateful for the ongoing challenges you set before us in
the teachings outlined in “Laudato Si” and “Amoris Laetitia” and “Rejoice
and be Glad”

We are trying to become more welcoming to those on the margins

– to non-traditional families

– to those who previously felt rejected and outcast by our Church.

– We also continue to search for the true integration of women into
the life of the Church acknowledging the one baptism that we all share.

We are becoming very aware that “We need to strengthen the conviction that
we are one single human family.” (LS) and that we must care for the earth
as a gift to all the members of this family, those close and far, those now
living and those unborn.

Finally, Holy Father, we have spotted a glaring omission in your schedule
in Ireland… no one has invited you to an Irish Breakfast. We, the community
of Balally wish to remedy this serious omission by inviting you to Balally
to a hearty Irish Breakfast, with all the trimmings, to be served by our
Hospitality and Fáilte Groups. You can tell us the day and the time and
we’ll have everything ready.

Signed by Members of the Parish Community of Balally,

P.S Don’t hesitate to bring friends, outcasts, and a Cardinal or two.
