Dear Friends
We have been very cautious in our approach to the lifting of restrictions on the number of people attending Mass, out of concern for the health and well-being of our parishioners.
With the aid of new guidelines from the diocese, Father Dermot and I believe that it is now time to allow an increased capacity for church attendance. This means that, with immediate effect, you will no longer have to book for Mass and we will no longer have to keep track of numbers attending. Neither will it be necessary to direct people to particular seats or rope off every second pew.
However, in accordance with public health guidelines, parishioners and visitors are asked to continue to keep sanitizing on entry to the church, to maintain some social distance and to wear face masks throughout the Mass (except when receiving Communion).
We will keep watching developments carefully and update you as necessary. We look forward to seeing many of you return to our beautiful church but of course we understand if you continue to feel nervous. You can join us on line.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our wonderful stewards and our organisers who helped us all stay safe during the darkest days.We pray that we will continue to care for ourselves and each other.
God Bless
Father Jim and Father Dermot
