Here are two meditations of the ‘Stations of the Cross’
The first is by our own Father Padraig McCarthy. Father Padraig encourages us;
Jesus is alive and with us! He is risen from the dead!
In the Stations of the Cross, we travel a journey with him.
You could stop and pray in your own way at each station.
You could read the thought from the Bible.
You could use a prayer from the back of this leaflet.
You could combine these, or choose your own way.
If you are with one or more persons praying the Stations,
you might like to share your thoughts and prayers in turn.
The second is by Reverend Emmanuel Charles McCarthy (no relation!); a priest of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, an Eastern Catholic church in communion with the Holy See “Stations Of The Cross of Non-Violent Love”;
“Nonviolent love belongs to the mystery of the Redeemer and redemption. The test is whether one shares in that mystery… Christ has shown that nonviolence is strength. The effectiveness of nonviolence is ultimately the open tomb.” Father Bernard Häring
