The Week That Was @ Balally Parish

New Church Roof -Abigail … the storm has been testing the roof of the Church. And in spite of the wind and the rain Balally has withstood the trial. During the week people have continued to hand in their donations to pay for the long awaited roof renovation. If you haven’t yet received a letter please lets us know, if your living within the parish but still wish to donate, please take a letter from the back of the church.

Note: there is no door to door fundraising taking place, so please do not entertain callers/bogus collectors fundraising for the Church Roof or the Centre. We hope that finally our “water feature” will be consigned to history and that we will have enough funds to paint and restore the ceiling.

Last Sunday the young people of Saint Olaf’s school made their commitment to prepare for the Confirmation. Indeed they did the readings and the prayers of the faithful and were a credit to their schools, their teachers and their families.

On Tuesday we had the funeral of Ray Lambe. Once again the Funeral Team and the Eucharistic ministers contributed enormously to help deal with the huge number of mourners who visited our Church.

The Lay Society organised the centennial year of Charles de Foucauld. He was murdered on December 1st 1916. There was an hour of Adoration on Friday and a get together in the Pastoral Centre…
