The Week That Was @ Balally Parish

Burying the ‘Alleluias’: During the Family Mass last Sunday ‘Alleluias’ were handed out to the children – old and young! The coloured in ‘Alleluias’ will be buried this Sunday for Lent and will remain in the tomb until Easter Sunday.

On Tuesday, the blessing of the Candles took place during the 10.00 Mass on the feast of the Presentation/Candlemas.

A unique event: Books of condolence and Mass cards for the Carrickmines tragedy were handed over to the Connors family on Tuesday afternoon at Mass celebrated here by Fr. Derek Farrell. The Fáilte team provided the hospitality in the Pastoral Centre afterwards. The Funeral team contributed with their ministry on Wednesday in assisting a grieving family.

Also on Wednesday the Liturgy team met to plan the upcoming Lenten season in the context of the Year of Mercy. Many important decisions were taken. As you probably have heard a person was knocked down in the car park, thankfully the person is recovering, but, it made us all aware of how careful we have to be in car parks especially when reversing.
