The Week That Was @ Balally Parish

Things are getting into busy mode again after the summer. Lots of preparations were been made for the Conference on Pope Francis encyclical. If you were around at all you were given a job!

We had the wonderful intervention of Theologian Terry Tilley of Fordham University at the 11.30 Mass on Sunday, in dialogue with our own Dr Lane.

A very important meeting with teachers and principals from St. Olaf’s and Queen of Angels to preview the sacramental preparation of the children was held on Wednesday …

We are blessed to have such great schools in the Parish. All the dates were put in the calendar. We will have the first communions on the 28th May 2016.

The Confirmation date will be confirmed from Archbishops house.

The Liturgy team had a planning meeting on Wednesday. This team previews all the liturgical events that happen in the Parish.

And then we got the news that the Collection for Camels had brought in four and a half thousand euro… enough to buy 10 camels and give a livelihood to 20 families in Africa. Again our community has shown its solidarity and generosity. (Camels cost around 1000 Euro in the Camel Bazaar in Riyhad and recently one was sold for 150,000 Euro …it was probably an Irish Camel with a Dublin jersey on)
