The Week That Was @ Balally

This week was a very busy one in the Parish. On Sunday we had the Launching of “Mercy”. A huge banner was unveiled in the Church with the Logo of the Year of Mercy, Mercy packs were given out at each Mass and the calendar of events was explained … and all this happened while the children at the ten Mass buried the Alleluias.

Trócaire boxes were distributed as were bags for the Vincent dePaul clothes collection, all highlighting Lent as a season of works of Mercy. This was also highlighted on Ash Wednesday when everyone received a list of works of Mercy as they came forward to be sealed with ashes.

There was another First Aid course in the Parish Centre; nearly 60 people have learned how to use the defibrillator (now housed in the corridor between the Parish Centre and Church). There was a very successful cake sale and raffle to pay for the defib ….

Some members of the Parish liturgy team, PPC and Parish team went to the Helix to receive information and to be appointed as Ambassadors of Mercy. They report that it was a hugely rewarding event and have come back to the parish with more ideas about how to celebrate this year of Mercy.
