“ We Shall Remember Them”
Dear Parishioners,
Since the beginning of the Covid Pandemic we have been keeping those who died in our hearts and prayers. Who would have thought on the 11th of March last year, when we placed the first cross on the wall of our church, that a year later there would be over 6000 people dead from this terrible disease on our little island?
On the 11th of March at 10.00 we will have a special Mass broadcast from Balally to mark this saddest of anniversaries and pray for all those who have died, to thank God for the gift of their individual lives and to accompany their families in their grief.
Father Peter.
“ We Shall Remember Them”
In the rising of the sun and in its going down:
We Shall Remember Them
In the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter:
We Shall Remember Them
In the opening of buds and in the rebirth of spring:
We Shall Remember Them
In the blueness of the sky and in the warmth of summer:
We Shall Remember Them
In the rustling of leaves and in the beauty of autumn:
We Shall Remember Them
In the beginning of the year and when it ends:
We Shall Remember Them
When we are weary and in need of strength:
We Shall Remember Them
When we are lost and sick at heart,
and when we have joys we yearn to share:
We Shall Remember Them
So long as we live,
they too shall live,
for they are now a part of us,
as we remember them.
