From Fr. Peter's Desk: 20th June, 2017

Two things dominated the parish this week one was the weather and the other
was the feast of Corpus Christi. The “Do This in Memory (DTIM)” programme
finished with the participation of the first communion children in the
Family Mass.

One of organisers invited parents to continue their involvement in the
liturgy by becoming
members of the Family Mass Team. There is no doubt that DTIM has
contributed
enormously to the adequate preparation of the children and the families for
the
sacraments. Combined with the work of the teachers it has made First
Communion day more special than ever.

The sale of the parish history book has continued at great pace. Books have
been sent to faraway lands like Canada and Australia, there are even
rumours that
exotic places like Sandyford and Dundrum have acquired copies. As was
mentioned at
the launch this is an ongoing story and some people have already been
inspired to
send their corrections or stories to the parish office for future editions.

The first Morning Prayer took place last Thursday. This has been a summer
initiative in Balally for many years and has highlighted the ability of the
parishioners to
organise their own prayerful events.
