Indeed this week was another busy week in our Parish. We had the second
“Pizza and Quiz” this Saturday. A team of parents and members of the PPC
helped to organise with the Credim Team to set up a very dynamic quiz about
Confirmation. Afterwards, we ate pizza with a vengeance (quizzes make you
very hungry). This is part of the programme of preparation for the
Sacrament that involves the Parish, the Parents and the School.
All day Saturday a group of volunteers spent the whole day in the Parish
Centre preparing Jams and Jellies for the 9th of December (some of the Jams
are unique to Balally Parish including the exclusive “Welly Berry Jam” and
Jumble Berry). These limited editions will be on sale…
Sunday we remembered all those who have died in road accidents it was also
the World day of the Poor.
On Tuesday we had two visiting priests at 10.00 Mass. Fr Robert Sloan is a
Chaplain in the Royal Hospital in Belfast. Fr Eamon McCarthy from Radio
Maria explained how this radio station is contributing to the life of the
Church on Ireland. He came with an imposing team of volunteers and
materials to give out after Mass.
