We had our first session on ‘Ministry in the church’ after the 10am Mass on
Saturday. It was very well attended by members of the various ministries
who were treated to an
inspiring talk on ministry by our own resident Theologian Fr Lane For those
who might have missed it, there will be another session next Saturday 10th
March from 10am to 12 noon in the Pastoral Centre.
Golden Wedding: Couples who celebrate their wedding journey of 50 years
seem to be truly happy. This can be said for Maureen and Seamus Coughlan
(Balally) who celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on 24th February.
They attended Mass on Saturday morning with all their family and friends,
including Maureen’s three sisters who came home from England to be with
them for this special occasion. Fr. Lane told us about how the couple met
in the Crystal Ballroom in the sixties as they danced under the beautiful
crystal chandelier. Later on the family went on to Beaufield Mews in
Stillorgan for a family celebration. At the 10am Mass on Sunday, Maureen
and Seamus renewed their marriage vows. After Mass they were joined by
their friends and neighbours in the Coffee Dock in the Parish Centre for
refreshments and cakes and a beautiful heart shaped cake, which was cut and
enjoyed by everyone there, hosted by The Fáilte Team. We wish the happy
couple many more years of wedded bliss.
