The Big Snow will be a great memory for the Parish over the years. Not
alone did many come out and help to clean the ways into the Church but many
discovered the benefits of the webcam and were able to follow the Mass from
the safety of their homes. We also had many reports of good Samaritans
helping people along the way. The ‘Cushions n’ Cakes’ party for
confirmation sponsors (Q&A) was postponed as was the “Breath of Life”. … no
snowball fights to report.
The Parish Team assisted at the Deanery Meeting* and was informed about
initiatives going on in other parishes regarding the 8th Amendment, we
heard Fr. Padraig highlight aspects of the debate in his new book
“Whistle-blower” and all were agreed that compassionate listening was
important. The Parish Website has been carrying the “Choose Life”
Newsletter, now in the 5th edition, “Luke’s Story”.
The confirmation controversy was also debated.
*Deanery is a grouping of Parishes in an area. Our area is Bray. It is
distinct from the smaller group called a cluster, we are clustered with
Sandyford Parish with whom we
work more and more in harmony.
