On Sunday we had great participation in the latest “Do This in Memory” mass. There was also great interest in the clothes collection for the St. Vincent de Paul. We also had 4 baby boys baptised into our faith. It is always a very happy occasion. The families are prepared by the baptismal team . The Baptisms take place after the 12.45 Mass on Sunday.
The Liturgy Committee had its meeting this week. Recent liturgical events were reviewed and upcoming events were discussed: the beginning of lent, the restoration of the Stations, the burial of the Alleluias ,the distribution of the Trocaire boxes.
Again the Parish teams did a sterling job helping with several funerals, organising teas and sandwiches and assisting with the funeral liturgies and making people feel welcome. There is no doubt that the parish functions because of the participation of so many volunteers.
Very Important Development:
One of the issues that the parish team and the PPC has tried to address is the theme of communications. Several initiatives have been put in motion and will be coming to fruition over the next few months. One suggestion that is in development is the enhancement of the Parish Bulletin. Over the years this has been one of the principle organ of communication within the parish. Already many parishioners receive the bulletin by email. A big next step will be the professional printing of the bulletin. It will be in colour with more space for more information and articles. It will also save a lot of time in the office as it will save us all the money we would have to invest in new printing machinery.
The company that prints the newsletter finances the project through advertisements. If any parishioners wish to advertise or to invite businesses or services to advertise in the new bulletin please let the parish office know.
