From Father Peter's Desk: 10th February, 2017

Golly Gosh, this was a busy week in our Parish. On Sunday the 400 club
informed the community of the importance of the Club over the years and
thanked those who have been involved. Many more signed up to be part of
this exclusive group.

On Monday the secret and surprise party was unleashed on the unsuspecting
Brid Fitzgerald, welcoming her back, recognizing her sterling work and
congratulating her on her 21st birthday. It was a great community moment,
lovely food … and calorie laden desserts.

Tuesday saw the Parish Pastoral Council meeting to address one of the most
important issues around our Parish; child protection. It took hours to
design a step by step route to the deployment of the vetting process in the
Parish. The commitment of the PPC to this issue can only be admired and
commended and reflects the absolute priority that must be given to insuring
that our community is a safe, encouraging and joyful environment for all
children.

Wednesday witnessed our ongoing “Operation Transformation” which continues
to invite people into healthy lifestyle habits.

Representatives from the Parish assisted at a seminar in Foxrock Parish on
the theme of the use of new technologies in the Parish. The future of
communities will be enhanced by the ability of parishes to adapt to these
new realities and put them at the service of the Gospel.
