From Fr. Peter’s Desk, 26th October, 2018

The Altar Society was on overtime this week end. On Saturday evening the
confirmation children from Sandyford were here for their enrolment Mass.
This highlights the gradual integration of the two parishes.

On Sunday the confirmation children from Queen of Angels and St Olaf’s came
forward with their certs to promise publicly and spiritually to dedicate
themselves to the preparation of their sacrament.

This all followed a middle of the week meeting of parents and a special
parish team to set up the Confirmation Club and have some extra events in
the lead up to the confirmation.

The first event is to take place on Saturday 17th of November … “Pizza
and Quiz- the rematch” you couldn’t miss an event with that name.

Saturday also saw a meeting of the Communications Team. This team helps to
keep the website, Facebook page (and the soon to be public INSTAGRAM
account). They work silently and constantly to update these communications
platforms; a difficult task in this busy electronic world.

The Suggestion Box strikes again:
At last, Tuesday’s Parish Pastoral Council Meeting the recent suggestions
were read out and discussed.:

There were several suggestions (one was signed by fifteen members of the
Parish) about the mini library in the Pastoral Centre. This has already
been resolved to everyone’s satisfaction.

There has been a couple of suggestions about the possibility of offering
some liturgies for those who are at work and can’t make it to the 10.00
Mass.
Evening times of adoration were also suggested. These were discussed but
because there has already been a recent change in Mass times in the Parish
it was decided to analyse these suggestions at a later date.

A suggestion of a prayer to Michael the Archangel at the end of each Mass
was made. This will be left to the discretion of the celebrant or any group
of people who would wish to pray it together.

Your suggestions are ALWAYS welcome
