From Fr. Peter's Desk, 6th October, 2018

It was the week of the meetings.

Parishioners came from far and wide to voice their opinions, share ideas
and worries and offer suggestions .. hundreds of them. The Parish Pastoral
Council took note of the proceedings, and the summary is being made
available to all parishioners through the website and in paper form. The
suggestion box is open 24/7 and loves to receive attention.

Sunday at 10.00 saw the first of the DTIM (Do This in Memory of Me) Masses.
The first communion children came with great enthusiasm to enrol in this
gentle journey towards the 25th of May (around 234 sleeps…). This
programme helps parents to create spiritual spaces in the preparation of
this important event.

It was also the last of the 12.45 Masses and Alex Slattery played for us
once again with the beautiful violin. From next week there will be Mass at
10.00 and 12.00. On
Wednesday we had an evening Mass, celebrated by Fr. Paul O Driscoll, to
commemorate those who died in the Carrickmines fire three years ago. We
also had the monthly meeting of the reader’s club.

Thursday morning Sister Therese began the course on scripture … a great
moment of learning for us all.
