From The Pastor's Desk: 16th June 2016

This Week:

There were many important activities this week in the Parish. So here is a reminder. You may have to go to the parish web site to see some photos.

The Parish Party was a huge success this year. Firstly there was a beautiful Mass, concelebrated by 16 priests, with the choir at its very best. This was followed by a delicious meal topped off by ice-creams the likes of which have never been seen before. Of course it was the generosity and the friendliness of the Parishioners that shone forth once again. Our guests were most impressed.

The last PPC meeting before the summer recess took place. As well as dealing with ongoing issues (youth outreach, signposting, courses to be offered)  the Parish Council reviewed at length the “Child Protection Policy”.  It also discussed aspects of fundraising around the church and decided to compose a policy document as well as posting guidelines on the website. All fundraising activities will now be reviewed at PPC meetings. It was all topped off by a healthy helping of apple pie and cream … loads of cream.

The first meeting of the “Reader’s Club” took place on Wednesday. You will start to see and hear younger members of our community do readings at Sunday Mass. The “Reader’s Club” wishes to be part of a plan to accompany young people in their faith development within the community. It is focused on young people who have made their confirmation. The coordinators  can be reached at the email arighoa@gmail.com
