“Cushions ‘n Cakes” took place in the Parish Centre. Confirmation children invited their sponsors to the Parish for a chat and a cake. It was an excellent activity organised by a special team which is helping with youth ministry.
The Communications team invited some parishioners to a special meeting to hear their opinion on the new parish website that it is set to be launched. An enormous amount of work has been put into this specialised area of Parish life.
The Parish Pastoral Council met this week and reviewed the events in the Parish over the Christmas period. As always Child Safeguarding was on the agenda. The PPC also spoke about strategic plans for the parish: the planned registration of parishioners, the use of the new website and a formula for renewal of the members of the Parish Council itself among other things.
The Finance Committee also had its meeting and went through the accounts of the Parish and the Parish Centre. This group of volunteers not only care for the money that the parishioners contribute for the mission and of the Church but they also oversee that best practices are in place for the financial management of the Parish.
Significant ideas are transmitted to us through the Liturgy, and this week we have been praying for Christian Unity using material prepared for us from the Churches in Indonesia. In the daily Masses, we have been reflecting on the history of Christian Unity and the challenges involved in overcoming differences and becoming “One”.
New photographs were put into the Parish Pastoral Centre can you identify where they are from?
