This Week : 6th Week of Ordinary Time
Many preparations for Lent were been speedily finished : The books for the Lenten Book Club arrived. Sister Therese came to the Parish to prepare the Bible course that will take place every Monday of Lent.
Alma finished the cleaning of the stations of the Cross that will be placed back in their places on pan-cake Tuesday and a Parish Priest was stashing away chocolates for further use. We had the visit from an engineer who evaluated the heating system and gave advice on future insulation of the Church.
A lot of cleaning has to be done in the Church and of the heating system.
There was an interesting meeting of the youth work group who read some paragraphs from Pope Francis’ “Christus Vivit”. As a group they decided to do a survey of the young people who are coming to our Church and ask them their opinion on how they see their role in the Church.
Recently we a visit of the confirmation classes from Queen of Angels and St Olaf’s schools. The girls and boys were very engaged in the Mass and in their preparation for the sacrament.
The Finance Committee gathered for a meeting that included a review of the yearly accounts and resolution of several governance queries. The community is very lucky to have such expertise and dedication caring for the resources of the parish.
